After resharpening it to my standards, it makes a wonderful axe. Good feel, good balance. Nice broad head,good handle. Good for felling or chopping. Good value.

You will need to be able sharpen this axe before you use it because it will show up pretty dull. However, it sharpens well on a grinder and has a nice handling to it. The handle is not to big or small. It is a good axe for the price, but remember it will show up dull.

Vendor screwed up - axe is in reasonable condition...except -

First off the packing was done clearly without thought or consideration to the size/weight/balance for secure shipping. Of the two bits, only one came with a rubber blade guard and it was damaged almost to being a worthless safety 'bandaid'. ONE star for vendor/shipper/packer. Three stars for the product itself because: 1)The dual blades seem symetrical but the swing balance is yet to be discovered until spring/summer when it can be evaluated properly. 2) The handle is poor-to-fair at best because it is primarily a flat surface and awkward to grip with a true controlled grasp and I fear could be troublesome when biting into an oak tree. I will most likely wrap some kind of tape around it for a more substantial swing & impact control. (like a hockey stick this is, except worse.) The material of the handle is questionable and appears to be some kind of ABS plastic and not fibreglass. Blade (?) unknown mystery metal.; Price: I wouldn't even pay the $28 bucks for it as I did > again, but did want a inexpensive axe for occasional camping use. Made in Taiwan & Vietnam. Blades are not pre-sharpened either.UPDATED FYI: Amazon is becoming increasingly more difficult to work with. No CS phone numbers that I can find. I wanted to see if I could get the 2 blade guards mentioned above. Should of sent it back on their nickel...axe total weight is 5 lbs.+ 12 oz. approx. and in a huge box with free UPS PU from my porch! lol big time. Yo...are you reading this CS? Well I'll get them back another time as I timed-out to hand sharpen it already. Not the end of the world but maybe I'll rethink spending $2400 here again this year!
